Minimum equipment: 1 x yoga mat, 2 x blocks, 2 x bricks, 1 x belt and 1 x blanket.

NB. You do not have to purchase your own equipment immediately.

I must mention The Iyengar Yoga Institute, Birmingham because this is where, in 2004, I took my first Iyengar yoga class.  I have moved around and had a couple of other Iyengar Teachers but my teacher now and for the past 6 years is Senior Iyengar Yoga Teacher Jayne Orton.  Jayne is a very experienced student of B.K.S Iyengar and has been awarded the Advanced Certificate by him. Undoubtedly ones own personal hard work develops strength and confidence however, we all need a teacher/guide/guru and this is one of the stipulations of the Iyengar sytem; to go to regular classes with an Iyengar teacher senior to yourself.  With thanks to Jayne Orton and B.K.S Iyengar.
